Recent inspiration for Laura's work was drawn from scuba diving trips to Borneo and Fiji, as well as eroded found structures discovered on the British coastline. Browse the next pages for more images of Laura's jewellery and silversmithing.
Laura creates sculptural jewellery and silverware from contrasting precious metals and an array of semi-precious stones. The delicate, unique aesthetic carried by her creations is inspired by a fascination for the varying forms of the vessel found in the natural world, from water catching pitcher
plants to sea worn oyster shells.
Laura's silver and rose gold 'Purl' bowl is currently on display at The Victoria and Albert Museum, in an exhibition entitled 'Inspirations from the Archives'. In 2012 she was awarded a silver bullion bursary from the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and was highly commended for her physalis fruit vessel design in the Young Designer Silversmith Awards. Laura has also recently become a Fellow of the prestigious Bishopsland workshops in Oxfordshire, a centre for excellence within jewellery and silversmithing.
Laura offers a bespoke service and welcomes commissions.
